Speaking today at the 132nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Hanoi, Vietnam, Speaker of the People’s Assembly Mohammad Jihad al-Laham — head delegate from Syria and the first man I’ve heard of with the name Jihad — identified the main cause for the horrendous terror status of the Middle East as the State of Israel and its supporting Western nations.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, “Al-Laham called on the world parliaments to press Israel to end its occupation of Arab territories,” such as the West Bank, Gaza, and even the Syrian Golan Heights, “considering this occupation as the root of chaos, terrorism, and tensions in the region.”
A couple months back C2T reported on large Israeli caches of weapons and ammunitions stashed in rebel occupied territories, including the Golan Heights — a large part of Southern Syria bordering Israel, and which Israel has been eyeing for decades to make their own. This was at the same time Israel was dropping bombs on Syria in order for rebels to obtain more territory in the country and get a stronghold in the Heights.
At the meeting of the IPU, al-Laham also stated the recent widespread of terrorist activity sweeping across the world started with the full support of the West in the beginning of the Western-dubbed “Arab Spring.”
According to him, the US, France, Britain, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar “training moderate opposition” in Turkey is showing their support for terrorism, sighting this activity as the reason so many foreign fighters are getting into Syria and Iraq to fight with groups such as ISIS with no problems at either border.
After revealing this information, al-Laham called for the members of the IPU to exert heavy pressures on the rest of the world governments to form an effective strategy for eliminating terrorism in the Middle East for good; rather than watch the Western powers sworn to fight it help it gain any further momentum.
